Rare daughters-in-law can boast that they have an even and friendly relationship with their mother-in-law. Usually the exact opposite happens

56 years ago, on April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first person to fly into outer space. Over the past half century, people, with the help of movies, have managed to send their spaceships with crews much further than Earth’s orbit, meet aliens, evacuate from Earth on ark ships, and so on. Our selection includes several excellent spaceships from world cinema, with which it is a pleasure to conquer the vastness of the Universe.

Carefully! Spoilers!

Flying saucers from the movie "Mars Attacks!"

Classic “flying saucers” with crab legs, brought to life by Tim Burton. Essentially, an ordinary ship for traveling through space with a standard set of amenities in the cabins. On the first level there is karaoke and a bar with panoramic windows. Some saucers are also rumored to be equipped with laboratories where sinister head transplant experiments can be carried out. In an expanded configuration, they are equipped with a combat laser that incinerates living organisms. However, due to the fact that the “flying saucer” model is outdated, it is practically impossible to evoke fear in modern earthlings - only laughter and a pathological desire to take a selfie.

Warning: the service personnel (aliens with cans on their heads) cannot stand the song “Indian Love Call” - in 1996, because of this, they were defeated in an attempt to take over the Earth.

"Axiom" from the cartoon "Wall-E"

An achievement of the space industry of the future from the Disney studio: an ark ship to rescue especially cunning and irresponsible people from their dying home planet (so that their descendants will deal with the consequences). In fact, “Axiom” is a mini-city with schools, kindergartens, swimming pools, cafes, sports centers, residential “neighborhoods” and other amenities. No one works on the ark (except for the captain, although he is shirking), all the work is done by robots and on-board systems. People move around in chairs, from where they can use the remote control at hand to set their destination, change the color of their suit, or call a robotic assistant who will wash, put on makeup, comb their hair, tell a story, feed them - anything, in general.

Warning: a long stay on the ark is fraught with excess weight and chronic procrastination. And the captain's assistant is a very suspicious guy.

Battlestar Galactica from the films and TV series of the same name

A warship built specifically for the war with the Cylons - intelligent machines that rebelled against humanity. Due to the fact that the Cylons are able to hack complex computer systems, the Galaxy has rather primitive software on board, which is compensated by powerful armor and weapons (nuclear missiles, kinetic weapons, raptors, etc.).

Warning: make sure you're not a Cylon.

Enterprise D from Star Trek

One of the most popular and recognizable film ships around the world. It consists of two parts: the main, motor part - at the bottom, and the living part - at the top, similar to a plate. While diplomatic disputes are ongoing in the command section, meetings are held between representatives of different civilizations and other important issues are being resolved, on the “plate”, a kind of mini-city with its own bars, hospitals, schools, etc., the life of passengers goes on as usual. The residential part can be “unfastened” if, for example, a “Borg Cube” is coming towards you (see below), and people need to be left “in the rear”, or it can be used as an ark for evacuation. Since the Enterprise is mainly a research ship, and on board it is mostly scientists and diplomats, it is worth considering that both the crew and the ship itself are poorly prepared for combat (the best tactic is to leave the battlefield in English). Later versions of the ship (D) have deflector shields, while the first starships of this type were protected solely by faith and hope.

Warning: Captain Jean-Luc Picard really doesn't like children.

"Borg Cube" from Star Trek

Looking at this cube, I remember not only Kazimir Malevich, but also all sorts of tricks of aircraft designers regarding the streamlined shape of the ship to develop greater speed, which the creators of this cube completely forgot about. The cube side size is 3 km by 3 km. Weight – 9 billion tons. Speed – 110 light years per day. The standard greeting emitted by the ship is “Resistance is futile” and, it seems, this is even a recommendation, because the “Cube” is equipped and protected so impressively (lasers, emitters, missiles, shields, field) that you only want to contact it if you are looking at him through the sights of the Death Star. However, it is worth considering that the “Cube” is capable of self-healing due to nanotechnology (the same ones), and the triumph of victory may be short-lived. The Enterprise crew had already been caught in this - they barely carried the engines away from the system where the Cube was then.

Warning: will be produced only from 2360. The drones servicing the ship do not know what diplomacy is and do not make contact (although, perhaps, deep inside the motherboard they are sensitive and vulnerable creatures - who knows?).

"Prometheus" from "Prometheus"

The ship from Ridley Scott's Prometheus is essentially a standard research vessel. On board the ship there are capsules where you can go into suspended animation, a screen to watch Lawrence of Arabia, medical modules where you can perform complex surgery to remove a mini-Alien, laboratories to examine suspicious cylinders with black liquid, and so on. The main attraction is that the fatally curious android David, with the face of Michael Fassbender, comes as standard.

Warning: there is an opportunity, in the end, to run into those who created the Aliens, because something similar to them was already seen on Prometheus. And yes, keep your eyes on David.

Alien space stations from Independence Day

An ideal model from Roland Emmerich for a leisurely but high-quality capture of a particular city or small country. The relatively low speed of movement is compensated by the strong impression that the station makes and the power of the destructive beam emitted. On board the station, depending on the size, a full-time crew of up to 2 million people (aliens) is envisaged. Up to 30 thousand space combat ships of various classes and purposes can also be placed on board. The station is surrounded by a force field, which is controlled from the central control room using standard software (updating to the latest version is free). Created to order according to the desired dimensions, the standard color is mysterious gray. The laconic design of the case will highlight your villainous ambitions.

Warning: don’t let Will Smith get close to the ship and install a good antivirus (the standard one in the first film did not cope with the task).

The ship, commissioned by Steven Spielberg, will delight connoisseurs of high alien shipbuilding fashion. An ideal model for peaceful explorers of the Universe who are eager to meet representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations and make a pleasant impression on them with their intricate spacecraft (after all, as you know, they are greeted by the skin). Nothing is known for certain about the combat capability of the ship, but up to a hundred reconnaissance ships and five thousand people (aliens) of a regular crew can be placed on board. It is equipped with a light-and-music universal translator located on the hull of the ship, so that immediately upon arrival on any planet you can arrange an organ concert and at the same time talk about life.

Warning: It is quite possible that Roy Nery, who flew away with the aliens in 1977, is still on board.

Rocket from a short film by Georges Méliès

Whatever you say, the very first spacecraft to land on the Moon was French. It “starts up” and takes off according to the famous law of Baron Munchausen - with the help of a cannon shot. The crew is a maximum of 5 people, the ship is controlled by the will of fate. Apparently, it flies to the Moon from Earth (384.3 thousand km) in 3-4 seconds, that is, it can compete with the Millennium Falcon in speed (sorry, Khan).

Warning: the most extreme ship among all those listed - no safety system, no brakes, not even a control system.

"Nostromo" from "Alien"

In fact, there is nothing special about this ship - it is generally some kind of barge that drags an ore processing plant behind it. The on-board computer called “Mom” is not distinguished by intelligence and intelligence (frankly speaking, it is stupid), but it will bring you out of the state of suspended animation exactly at the moment when you are exactly next to the ancient ship on which the eggs of bloodthirsty Aliens are located. And then there’s the cosmic “Fort Boyard”: you have two hours (according to the rules of the insidious old man Ridley Scott in the tower) to run through a maze of corridors and dead ends, building up nutritious muscle mass, which will be used for lunch (or dinner) for the Alien. There will be no gold, but there will be a shuttle on which you can escape. Only Ellen Ripley reached this round in 1979.

Warning: In the basic configuration, the Nostromo comes with Jones the cat, who by default will survive. Everyone loves cats.

"Death Star 2"

An indispensable station if you have already captured the Earth and are now thinking about taking over the Universe. It was invented by George Lucas - and partly with the help of it, he captured the minds of millions of people, turning them into Star Wars fans. The width of the Death Star is about 900 km, the station is equipped with two hyperspace engines, in addition to the central super-powerful laser, which is capable of destroying entire planets, the Death Star also has eight smaller lasers, thousands of different guns (from ion to laser) and other military gadgets. Possibility of placing up to 50 thousand spacecraft on board - from tanks to fighter jets. Crew – more than 8 million people. Protected by a powerful force field powered by a generator. Comments, as they say, are unnecessary - how the Empire missed the Universe with such a trump card in its hands is unclear.

By default, the station plays "Imperial March" as background music.

  • observation decks offer excellent views for selfies,
  • plastic Darth Vader armor in various colors is included,
  • some saw the sad ghost of Emperor Palpatine in the corridors.

Warning: If you place a bunker with protective force field generators on a planet where cute fluffy natives with spears live, first enlist their support - otherwise your opponents will make friends with them, and from them they will learn where your poorly guarded secret entrance to the bunker is.

Millennium Falcon from Star Wars

An oldie but a timeless classic from director George Lucas, who constructed the Millennium Falcon out of a bitten hamburger and an olive tucked into the side. Once upon a time, Han Solo won the “Falcon” by playing cards, slightly improved the resulting mess on little things (guns, ventilation, etc.), and installed a hyperdrive for jumping around the Universe (to hide from everyone to whom he owes money). The result was one of the fastest ships in all the galaxies combined (speed 5 light years per hour), but also one of the most unsafe - in episodes 4 - 6 of Star Wars, the Falcon broke down more often than it flew. However, as Chewbacca clearly demonstrated in Return of the Jedi, the hyperdrive is repaired with a precise hit of a wrench on the dashboard - as long as it is done with all the Force. If necessary, you can concentrate and hit again - for sure and for a long time. Crew – up to 6 people. Lots of room for smuggling. It will be convenient to use after conquering the Universe - to trade and keep an eye out for the rebels.

Warning: may the Force be with you. And a wrench.

It would seem, what does “Eagle 5” have to do with it, if there is an indecently long “Cosmoball 1” with the unforgettable inscription “We do not slow down for anyone”? Yes, because "Eagle 5" - Lone Star's ship - is an excellent choice for a space weekend! Get on such a spacebus, drive somewhere to Mercury, bask in the rays of the Sun, admiring the high mountains of Venus and its famous thunderstorms, and then drift through the rings of Saturn and visit Mark Watney’s “The Martian” on Mars, munching on local potatoes. And on Earth, with such a spacebus, there are no traffic jams or rules. Plus an excellent sound system with subwoofers.

Warning: the ship can be tracked by incoming calls, so the Eagle 5 is not well suited for hiding chatterbox smugglers.

This is a truly unique spaceship, which is actually a flying Zhiguli in the shape of a bucket (the same technical characteristics) and at the same time a satire on the post-perestroika era from Georgy Danelia. But if you suddenly meet aliens (or someone from Hollywood), they will either burst out laughing or not take you seriously and let you go. Meanwhile, you'll board the Death Star and play them the "Imperial March" on the laser cannon flute.

Warning: Stock up on spare parts, fuel, patience and a sense of humor. And yet, install a gravitsap so that you can be transported closer to the workshop at any time, and not push the “viper with wheels” manually from the other end of the Galaxy. “Pepelats” is a delicate matter. Very thin...

Strictly speaking, this is a living creature, a time machine and a spaceship at the same time. Once grown on Gallifrey, the planet of the Time Lords, using energy from an artificial black hole, the TARDIS was borrowed by the First Doctor. Thanks to mimicry, the TARDIS can camouflage itself with the surroundings it finds itself in, but the Doctor's ship always looks like a police box due to the broken mechanism. The Ninth Doctor claimed that the TARDIS was over 900 years old (but this figure is likely greatly reduced). Inside the TARDIS, according to the Eleventh Doctor, is endless - in addition to the control center and living compartments, there is an art gallery, a swimming pool, a library, and a hospital compartment... Of the abilities that the TARDIS has, the most important are movement in space and time , telepathic and computer functions. The protection module is impressive: when the doors are closed, external enemies are almost not scary. With the intervention of the Time Lords, human incarnations of the TARDIS are possible, as, for example, was the case with the Eleventh Doctor, who met his TARDIS in the form of a woman.

Warning: appearances are deceptive. This is not Pepelats.

A legendary ship that, although it looks like a spinning top with legs, will outshine everyone on this list in terms of functionality and adventures experienced. Inspired by Kir Bulychev's book Alice and the Three Captains, Pegasus was designed by director Roman Kachanov in 1981. In only 50 minutes of the cartoon, with his crew of 3 people, he visited the planets Blook, Shelezyak and the Third Planet of the Medusa system, where an insidious conspiracy of intergalactic criminals led by Veselchak was eventually revealed.

Warning: The Talker bird is distinguished by its intelligence and intelligence.

"Stevenson's Legacy" from Treasure Planet

For romantics and lovers of classic literature, another dream spaceship from the Disney studio. It navigates the expanses of the Universe no worse than all the spaceships mentioned in the selection, only this one is a truly “ship” ship, with sails, spars, rigging and so on. The crew is standard (captain, mates, boatswain, sailors, cabin boys...), navigation by compass and maps, control by shouting “Hang on the yards!”, even seasickness - everything is like on “earthly” ships. Here you can even fall overboard and meet pirates - after all, this is outer space.

Warning: If you see a suspicious cyborg cook in the kitchen of a ship, make a suspicious face.

Tau'ri

After several years of searching for extraterrestrial technology, people, using the help of allies, were able to build their own combat spaceships.

X-301

The X-301 Interceptor was the Tau'ri's first attempt at creating a warship based on Goa'uld technology. This interceptor was created from two death gliders obtained during Apophis's failed attack on Earth. The ship was modified by technicians from Area 51 and equipped with a fire control system based on Earth technology, as well as weapons taken from an Earth fighter, leaving only Goa'uld propulsion technology.

The craft was designed for two pilots. The ship was designed to attack Ha'taki, so it was equipped with a stealth mode and two missiles enriched with naquadah, these missiles were also equipped with a device for reading the frequency of energy shields, which allows it to penetrate them.

Although the first tests were successful, the next stage of testing - in outer space - failed when the return device was activated. As a result, the fighter deviated from its course and headed towards the planet Apophis. The ship's two pilots, Jack O'Neill and Teal'c, were captured because the navigation and control system did not work. This made the ship unusable, after which the Tau'ri decided to build ships on their own.

X-302 (renamed F-302 after testing)

The F-302 fighter is the second Tau'ri space combat ship, but created from terrestrial materials based on acquired extraterrestrial technologies. It is also the first Tau'ri starship to be equipped with a hyperdrive, making it the first hyperspace-capable ship built by the Tau'ri. Unlike its predecessor, the X-301, the fighter was built using alien technology, but based on Earth fighters.

Externally, the ship also resembled a death glider. The fighter was equipped with three types of engines: a jet engine for flights in the atmosphere, a rocket engine for acceleration and access to space, and a hyperdrive, which allowed it to fly faster than the speed of light. Unlike the X-301, the 302 was equipped with inertia dampers, which allowed the pilot to accelerate and maneuver at high speeds without experiencing serious physical stress. Inertia dampers allow the F-302 to make sudden stops in place or sharp turns at high speeds. This makes the F-302 one of the most maneuverable fighter jets.

Hyperdrive 302 was rarely used due to the hyperdrive generator being powered by unstable naquadria, which made the hyperspace window unstable. Perhaps the hyperdrive was not included in the serial configuration.

Battlecruiser "Prometheus"

"Prometheus"

Unlike the 302s, which were designed as interceptors, the 303, aka "Prometheus", was created as a response to the Goa'uld Ha'tak. This is the first major combat ship of the US Aerospace Forces. But it is still much smaller than the Goa'uld ships. The ship has 15 decks and can accommodate up to 100 people. In addition to everything, the ship is equipped with hangars for 302s.

The 303rd was built on Earth and looks like a regular Earth warship with a long bow and a pronounced bridge near the stern.

Prometheus was capable of traveling both at sublight speeds and in hyperspace. But its hyperdrive was unstable, as it was powered by a naquadria generator. During the first test, the ship was accidentally transported to an unknown location.

As weapons, the Prometheus had a variety of linear guns located throughout the hull, and missile launchers, where nuclear missiles enriched with naquadah were stored.

Daedalus-class battlecruiser

Apollo, Daedalus-class cruiser

304, also known as the Daedalus-class battlecruiser, is the second intergalactic Tau'ri warship, created from Earth materials based on alien technology (mostly Ancient and Asgard technology). As of 2009, there are five ships of this class (there would have been six if the Russian-owned Korolev had not been destroyed in the first battle with Ori): Daedalus, Apollo, Odysseus, Sun Tzu and "George Hammond" ("Phoenix" in an alternate universe). Four of the five ships are under the command of the US Air Force, the Sun Tzu belongs to the People's Republic of China. In the battle with the Wraith, this ship was critically damaged, and it is not known what became of it.

Although the Daedalus was called the same type as the 303rd Prometheus, the 304th is strikingly different from the 303rd both externally and technologically. While Prometheus was built using Goa'uld technology, the 304's design included many Asgard technologies, such as a hyperdrive that allows access to the Pegasus galaxy, an energy shield, and a transporter.

Although the Asgard initially refused to install their weapons systems on 304, they changed their minds when they decided to commit mass suicide. In 2007, the Asgard installed their computer and all the information and history of their civilization and the latest weapon - a plasma beam cannon - on Earth's flagship Odyssey. Later, Daedalus and Apollo were equipped with these weapons. Apparently, all subsequent ships were also equipped with such weapons.

Ancients

Alteran colony ship

The Alteran ship leaves Celestis

This massive spaceship was one of the first vessels capable of traversing intergalactic space, built by the Alterans while they were in their home galaxy. On this ship, the Alterans fled from the Ori to avoid war with them.

The colony ship was built inside the mountain on which the Alteran village, Ortus Mallum, was located. During takeoff, the ship destroyed the top of the mountain, which led to a massive collapse and the death of the village, although the tunnels in which the Alterans hid their developments and technologies survived.

After the Alterans left their home planet Celestis and the galaxy, the Ori declared this event their victory over evil and built their city, the golden city of Celestis (Celeste), not far from the “Source of Evil” (the literal translation of the name of the village of Alteran).

This ship is the oldest of all known ships of the Ancients, as it is more than 1 million years old, it is older than even the Destiny. It is not known for certain what kind of propulsion system was installed on the ship, but it can be assumed, given the age of the ship, that it was equipped with a superluminal engine, similar to the one installed on the Destiny. There is also speculation that the ship could have been equipped with a hyperdrive to cross vast distances, given that the ship took off in the same way as Atlantis. Considering the fact that the ship took off like Atlantis - rose from the mountain slowly, and then sharply gained altitude, as well as the size and role of the ship (colony), it is possible that this ship is the technological ancestor of city-ships.

Paddle jumper

The Gate Ship, better known as the Paddle Jumper, is a small spaceship created by the Ancients. About 20 such ships were located in two hangars of the city ship Atlantis; are now used by the expedition to Atlantis for various purposes: reconnaissance, combat, rescue operations. Gate ships have retractable engines that propel the ship; To pass through the stargate, these engines are hidden in the hull. The Jumpers are also equipped with powerful weapons of the Ancients: drones. There are about a dozen of them on board. For protection, these small ships are equipped with a cloaking device that makes the ship invisible, but can be converted into an energy shield. To open the gate, the gate ship has its own dialing device. The ship can pass through the shield of Atlantis.

The gate ship is controlled via a neural interface, creating a telepathic link between the operator and the ship's system. A person without the ATD gene cannot control ship systems.

Name Paddle Jumper/Jumper ( Puddle from English Puddle, Jumper - Jumper) is a play on words based on the ship's ability to pass through the event horizon of a stargate, which is similar to a circular puddle (the Goa'uld call this process "threading"). The term was coined by John Sheppard, an experienced pilot and chief officer in Atlantis, who did not like the name "gate ship" by Dr. McKay and Lieutenant Ford.

shuttle

The Shuttle is a small short-range spacecraft used for short-range research on the Ancients' research vessel Destiny.

Externally, the Ancients' shuttle is more similar to a space shuttle created by the Tau'ri than to any other alien vessel. It can be described as a miniature version of the Destiny, with an elongated nose and wings where the engines are located. The shuttle is larger than the Jumper, and can accommodate a total of 17 people: five crew members and 12 passengers. When the Tau'ri arrived on Destiny, both shuttles docked with the ship were in poor condition: the paint was peeling, and one of the shuttles was depressurized. Later, when one of the shuttles was returned completely refurbished, the exterior of the shuttles was seen to be gray with red-orange sections, while the interiors of the vessel were primarily light blue with gold accents.

At the bow of the ship there is a pilot's cabin, in which all ship systems are controlled. The cockpit has three seats: a pilot's seat with a flight control interface, an additional navigation console and a weapons control console, and two navigator seats. At the stern there is a passenger area, where there are two benches on the sides of the vessel for 12 passengers. You can enter the ship just like the Jumper - through the door at the rear of the ship, with which the shuttle docks with Destiny.

The shuttle is capable of flying at sublight speeds, but not at superluminal speeds. Its sub-light speed is lower than Destiny's speed. The shuttle is equipped with two wing-mounted energy cannons that appear to be as powerful as Destiny's secondary cannons. The shuttle has an energy shield and a stealth mode that has not yet been demonstrated.

Stargate Builders (Siders)

Seeder in battle with drones

The sider ship is similar in appearance to the Destiny, but is only about half the length of the Destiny, and the mass is about a third of the Destiny. This ship is flatter and lacks the habitable pyramid-shaped superstructure of the Destiny; The ship's wings at the back are hollow, like those of a shuttle. The docking airlock, which is located at the rear of the ship, allows Destiny to dock with the Sower using the airlock on the bottom. The docking gateway combines a power and data transmission channel. Seeders were designed to produce and install stargates on planets that may have the resources necessary to continue Destiny's mission, as well as on planets worth exploring. The Stargate manufacturing plant appears to extend the length of the ship, and can accommodate many of these devices at once. Data on these planets is transmitted to Destiny via subspace communications; Based on this information, a route is plotted for Destiny and data on planets where the ship can replenish supplies.

Seeder is equipped with an FTL drive, just like Destiny. But unlike Destiny, the seeders are equipped with ten propulsion modules, not sixteen (most likely due to the size of the ship). Like the Destiny, the Siders are armed with pulse energy cannons for defense, although they do not appear to be equipped with offensive weapons. Only smaller caliber guns are known to be present, so it is unknown if the Siders have a main caliber gun like the Destiny. Seeders have vast energy reserves, and their power supplies can be even more powerful than a zero point module. If this energy is directed to the stargate, then, theoretically, it could be enough to establish a stable wormhole over gigantic distances, at least to establish a wormhole to the Milky Way from the place where “Destiny” is located. The corridors on the ship are very narrow, so people can only walk along them in single file. Pipes and mechanisms also interfere with rapid movement around the ship. There is a small control room at the stern of the ship, which is reminiscent of the control center on Destiny. From here you can control the boat manually.

Orai

Cruiser Ori

Ori cruisers

The ship is equipped with a powerful intergalactic hyperdrive, which allows it to cross very long distances in a fairly short time. The ship is equipped with the same ion cannons as on the O'Neill class battleships. The Daniel Jackson is also equipped with an invisible field, which allows you to hide the ship. Like any other Asgard ship, it is equipped with a transporter for moving from planet to ship and vice versa.

A ship of this class, owned by Thor, is equipped with a planetary-scale Replicator Splitter.

Vanir ship

Vanir ship

Vanir Ships are spaceships built by the Vanir (Asgard faction) in the Pegasus Galaxy.

These ships are about the same size as the Prometheus. The ships are equipped with electromagnetic fields, which allowed the ships to pass through the raised city shield of Atlantis without any effort or damage. It is likely that this technology was somehow borrowed from the Ancients, as Gate ships can also penetrate the city's shield. Following this incident, the shield was reconfigured to prevent similar occurrences. The ships can vertically disembark soldiers and later pick them up via wireless lift.

The only known room on the ship is a brig equipped with a laser grid that “stings” anyone who touches it. The ship is capable of carrying out interstellar hyperspace flights, as well as opening hyperspace windows in the atmosphere of planets. Their weapons and shields are far inferior to those of their fellow ships in the Ida galaxy: they can easily be destroyed by the comparatively backward (compared to Lantian ships) Nomad ships, even if the Vanir have a numerical advantage.

Goa'uld

Death Glider

Death Glider

Two-seat Goa'uld fighter. Its shape resembles the mythical winged scarab. It is used for shelling ground targets, as well as for air and space combat. Since they do not have an aiming system, it is much more difficult for them to hit small targets. Armed with two plasma cannons (also called stick cannons). Since gliders do not have hyperdrives, they are usually launched from large pyramid ships, but can also take off from any surface. They exist in several visually distinguishable modifications, most likely depending on who they belong to.

Gliders can fight both in the planet’s atmosphere and in outer space. Like other starships, gliders are equipped with inertia dampers, although like the Tau'ri F-302 they are not very effective at high speeds. Gliders can also be launched from under water, although they were not designed for such purposes.

The gliders are equipped with loudspeakers, suggesting that the pilot may first threaten the victim before opening fire. So these fighters have a scanning system that allows them to detect other ships, while the pilots communicate using small intercoms on their cheeks.

When Teal'c rebelled against the System Lords, the gliders began to be equipped with a return program, which returned the glider to the home planet of Apophis if the glider fell into the hands of the enemy.

Threader

Threader

The Threader is a type of Death Glider, built by the Goa'uld specifically to pass through stargates (similar to the Ancient Leaper). But unlike the Jumpers, it is not equipped with any automatic systems that would simplify passage through the stargate. There were also not many pilots who could successfully perform this maneuver, and because of this, this type of glider was discontinued.

The Threader's cabin can accommodate two people: a pilot and a gunner, although like a regular glider, it can be controlled by one person. Whereas a normal death glider has two downward curved wings, the Threader has instead of wings something like a cylinder surrounding the ship and connected to it by small wings. The ship is equipped with two energy cannons, similar to those installed on standard gliders. The range of destruction of these guns is only 70 meters. This small range is explained by the fact that the Goa'uld used these ships to clear the space around the gates. The vessel is powered by a small naquadah reactor and has a hull made of trinium. The length of the Threader is only 4 meters.

Tel'tak

Tel'tak

The Tel'tak is a pyramid-shaped ship with an elongated bow. The stern of the ship turns into a pair of wings of sorts, which are interrupted in the middle of the ship and then continue to the bow. On the ground, the wings are retracted into the ship and released again in the air. The ship is divided into two main sections - the main deck, where the main entrance is located, and the cargo compartment with a ring conveyor. The two sections are separated by a bulkhead that can be opened if more cargo space is required. Tel'tak's primary role is to transport cargo and passengers.

Tel'tak's basic model is equipped with a hyperdrive, a cloaking device, transport rings, and four escape pods. Standard models are not armed or protected by energy shields. These ships are very maneuverable due to their small size. Their speed, both sublight and superluminal, is much lower than those of Ha'tak and Al'kesh.

Tel'taki are often upgraded to make them more versatile. Shields are the most common addition that makes a ship more resistant to enemy fire. Pulse cannons are also sometimes installed on ships, although this is quite rare.

Transport ship

A Goa'uld transport ship is a ship capable of transporting hundreds of Jaffa warriors at a time. The length of the ship is approximately 2 times the length of the al'kesh. Apparently, it is used as a purely landing ship. It has energy shields and transport rings; whether it has weapons is unknown. The ship only appeared a couple of times in SG-1.

Al'kesh

Al'kesh, like most Goa'uld ships, vaguely resembles a pyramid. There are two large wings running from the stern to the bow. Al'kesh can travel at sub-light speeds thanks to four sub-light engines mounted on the ship's wings. The ship is also equipped with a hyperdrive, which allows the ship to open windows into hyperspace. The ship's systems are controlled via standard Goa'uld crystals. Al'kesh's bridge has space for two pilots, as well as a control area for the ship.

Al'kesh is equipped with two energy cannons mounted on a rotating turret on the bottom of the ship. The ship can also drop plasma bombs, which are powerful enough to pierce the ground and destroy Tok'ra crystalline tunnels. The destructive power of Al'kesh's guns far exceeds the power of the death glider's guns, and Al'kesh also has an energy shield, so he lags only in maneuverability. The effectiveness of the shields is debatable, as even a few Tau'ri missiles or death glider shots can deplete them. Al'kesh is equipped with an invisibility device. Al'kesh is often used for combat and is usually covered by several gliders.

Ancient ring transporters are used to move troops and equipment both to and from the ship and throughout the ship. The conveyor is located in a large room, which can also be used as a storage room. The cargo bay is large enough to accommodate several Stargates. Some Al'kesh were modified to move objects using Asgard transporters. Al'keshi can also serve as a "space train", transporting cargo trailered like wagons. The length of Al'kesh is 35 meters.

Ha'tak

The Ha'tak is a spaceship of the Goa'uld fleet. Serves as the lead ship and heavy cruiser. The Ha'tak is one of the most powerful ships in the Goa'uld fleet, however, compared to the Aurora-class battleships of the Ancients, the O'Neill-class battleships of the Asgard, and the Ori cruisers, they are quite primitive. After the fall of the Goa'uld, these ships, as well as their other technologies, were used by the Free Jaffa Nation and the Lucian Alliance.

The Ha'tak consists of two sections: the main section is a golden tetrahedron built into the center of the vessel, reminiscent of an Egyptian pyramid. All the main systems of the ship are concentrated in this place, such as the glider hangar and command centers. Surrounding the pyramid is a large, triangle-shaped superstructure that wraps around the middle of the pyramid. The external superstructure houses the weapon systems. The oldest class of Ha'taks, such as those used by Ra, are about 10,000 years old

The Ha'tak's armament is extensive: the ship is equipped with 60 pulse cannons located throughout the superstructure. The ship uses them to conduct both close combat and bombard targets from orbit. There are also many death gliders on board the Ha'tak, which are used as fighters. Ha'tak is equipped with powerful shields and an interstellar hyperdrive.

The Ha'tak can land on virtually any type of terrain, but its hollow interior is designed for pyramid landing (mountains can serve as a landing pad if there are no pyramids).

Mothership of Ra

Cheops class ship

The Ha'tak type was used by the Ra family (his son Heru-ur also used this type). It looks like an ordinary pyramid, the top of which opens into the planet's atmosphere.

This ship belongs to the Cheops class, but is also known as a pyramid ship. This ship is a kind of prototype of the Goa'uld ha'taks. Unlike regular Ha'taks, this ship is capable of fully opening. Like later Ha'taks, the Cheops-class ship has a hangar of death gliders, but how many fighters it stored is unknown.

The hull of the hive, like any other Wraith vessel, consists of organic matter. As a result, ships are literally being grown. Also, Wraith ships do not have energy shields; instead, the hull itself regenerates damage received. Since these ships do not have shields, nuclear bombs could be teleported onto them without any problems, but the Wraith quickly developed a protective code that blocked enemy teleporters.

Despite its enormous size, the Hive can enter the planet's atmosphere and land. The ship can remain in this position for centuries. The hive even comes into contact with the nature of the planet, growing grass and trees.

Like any spaceship, the Hive is equipped with a hyperdrive. But this system has a drawback: the Hive or cruiser must fly in hyperspace in jumps, periodically exiting hyperspace, since the hull must heal the “wounds” caused by hyperspace radiation.

Wraith cruiser

The Wraith Cruiser is a relatively small ship (about the size of the Daedalus) that usually escorts the Hive. During battles or harvesting, the cruiser acts as support for the Hive. In the event of the death of the latter, cruisers usually leave the battlefield, going into hyperspace.

Sometimes cruisers themselves go to harvest on planets whose inhabitants cannot resist their power. Cruisers are also used as patrol vessels, surveying Wraith territories for incidents or other dangers. Like other Wraith ships, cruisers are not protected by an energy shield, but rely on an organic hull that heals its "wounds" itself.

During battles, one Hive is usually accompanied by three cruisers. Even though these ships are equipped with a hyperdrive, they enter hyperspace thanks to the Hive. It is also known that cruisers have a hangar for Arrows, which help in harvesting or fighting for both the Hive and the cruiser. Like the Hive, the cruiser is controlled by a neuro interface, reacting only to Wraith DNA.

Supply ship

Downed Wraith supply ship

Wraith supply ships were ships that were used by the Wraith to transport cocooned humans to other parts of the Wraith fleet. Typically these ships were used to supply food to the Wraith during long battles, allowing them to continue fighting for food.

On such a ship there could be thousands of cocoons with people. In 2004, the Atlantis Expedition discovered one of these ships on one of the planets of the Lantian solar system. This ship was shot down by a Lantian weapons satellite during the Wraith siege of Atlantis. This ship carried people to feed the Wraiths fighting the Lantians. After the ship crashed onto a planet without a stargate, it began transmitting a distress signal, which the earthlings picked up when they arrived at the last Lantian combat satellite for research. Since not a single similar vessel was seen again, most likely, after the war with the Lantians, they were no longer produced.

Some time later, Todd's delegation arrived on a reconnaissance ship on the Daedalus and landed in the F-302's hangar. When Todd captured a Tau'ri ship due to suspicions of activating the Attero Device, he attempted to use the Daedalus to destroy the Device. After the failure, Todd and his delegation escaped on a patrol ship.

Wraith Arrow

Arrows are Wraith fighters. Their main task is to harvest crops and supply food supplies to the Hive or cruiser. The arrows are small enough to pass through stargates, for which they have a dialing device on board. But mostly Arrows are released from the hangars of Hives and cruisers, but it is not known how many Arrows are in such ships.

During the harvest, the Arrows harvest people using a transport beam, trying to capture as many people as possible. Then these people rematerialize on the Hive or somewhere else.

During battles, Arrows usually serve as fighters that destroy other similar ships or defend their mothership. Arrow pilots willingly sacrifice themselves by directing Arrows at targets or intercepting enemy fire (such as Ancient drones), acting like kamikazes. Also, if the Host Hive is destroyed, Arrows usually go to ram.

The arrow has a unique energy shield. This shield plays the role of the Strela cockpit cover, but it is not transparent and therefore inside it is presented in the form of a huge display on which all the necessary information is displayed.

Replicators

Patrol ship

Patrol ship

The Replicator Patrol Ship is a ship of unknown design that has been used by the Replicators on at least two occasions.

SG-1 first encountered this ship after the battle in the Vorash system, when, due to the explosion of a star, their ship was thrown into an unknown galaxy. Apophis's new ship also ended up in that galaxy. Since he was much superior in the technological aspect, a patrol ship attacked his ship. The firepower of this ship far exceeded that of Apophis's new ship, as the ship was equipped with some kind of beam weapon that disabled the ship with a few shots, and this ship also destroyed all the pulse weapons of the mother ship with shots from defensive guns. SG-1 hid from the ship behind the sun of the local star system and did not see how the replicator ship defeated Apophis. But when SG-1 returned to the battlefield, they discovered that the patrol ship had disappeared, and the replicators had transferred to Apophis' ship.

Either the patrol ship was abandoned somewhere, or it went to where the other replicators were based.

A ship of the same class was discovered near the Asgard planet Hala, where they had trapped the replicators in a time expansion device. This ship guarded the planet, since it was all covered with replicator blocks. Since Prometheus was too primitive for them in the technological aspect, the replicators did not touch it. The ship was most likely destroyed when the Asgards turned Hala's sun into a black hole.

The original builder of the ship is not known, but it can be assumed that it was a highly developed civilization, since the ship had powerful energy shields, beam weapons and most likely a hyperdrive. It is also possible that the ship was built by the replicators themselves from modular blocks, based on assimilated them technologies.

Spider ship

Spider ship

The Spider Ship is a small ship used by the Milky Way Replicators during their conquest of the galaxy. Used as a support vessel.

These vessels consisted of a huge number of modular Replicator units. Externally, this ship resembled a huge mechanical spider. The ship had seven legs. These ships can be constructed from replicator blocks by the replicators themselves, which combine into one larger version of themselves, except that this replicator can fly in space and hyperspace, indicating that the ship has a hyperdrive. It is not known exactly whether this ship is armed or serves only to transport replicators.

The first ship of this class first appeared on the Asgard's new home planet of Orilla, when a newly created weapon - the Replicator Splitter - was used against this mechanical race. A huge number of replicators came together to create a ship for flight in hyperspace. In this way, the replicators were able to escape the effects of the Splitter, but most of their brethren were destroyed.

Several of these ships were deployed during the assault on Dakara, when RepliCarter discovered the Super Weapon and sent several of its ships to capture it and prevent SG-1 from using it to destroy the replicators.

The spider ship landed on Dakara and disgorged a swarm of spider replicators, who attempted to neutralize the Rebel Jaffa and Tau'ri men who were defending the installation. But when the weapon was activated, this ship, like all replicators in the Milky Way, was destroyed.

Cruiser

Cruiser Fifth/RepliCarter

The Replicator cruiser was created by the humanoid replicator Five, and RepliCarter created her own cruiser based on the same project.

Only one room is known on the ship, which was used for various purposes. Five used the facility to hold Samantha Carter captive while he tortured her and tried to win her over to his side by telling her how he felt. Also in this room a replica of Samantha Carter was created. Here she tortured Dr. Daniel Jackson to find out what weapon could stop her from taking over the galaxy.

Five used this vessel to escape the planet Hala, where the Replicators were imprisoned in a time expansion field. When he captured Samantha Carter, he took his ship to Orilla. There, in orbit, the ship was destroyed by the Asgard fleet, led by the O'Neill-class Valhalla, as soon as it emerged from hyperspace.

Five later recreated the ship to reach the Milky Way. The ship was destroyed by the Replicator Splitter in Alpha Side orbit when RepliCarter betrayed Five.

Ori) and shoots orange energy pulses.

There are many fighters on board the ship that can fight. The ship's main weapon fires yellow energy pulses, which alone are not very effective against Destiny's energy shields, but multiple simultaneous hits can cause serious damage to Destiny. The weapon does not have a high rate of fire. The ship is equipped with an energy shield that can withstand shots from the Destiny's main gun.

Nakai's ships use an intergalactic hyperdrive system. It differs from the hyperdrives of the Milky Way and Pegasus races in the visual and sound effects when entering and exiting hyperspace: instead of a colorful spatial disturbance, when entering and exiting hyperspace, ships create a bright white flash.

Fighter

Nakai Fighter

A fighter is a small spacecraft, approximately 60 feet long and 30 feet wide. This small fighter is oval in shape. The fighters are launched from the Nakai mothership, which can carry at least a dozen fighters. The fighter is equipped with a single energy weapon, mounted on the left side of the ship near the bow. Its effectiveness is unclear: several fighters could deplete Destiny's shields fairly quickly (although its shields were weakened due to Destiny firing back), but a single shot at an Ancient shuttle had virtually no effect. The starfighters are also equipped with energy shields, which are a rarity for ships of their size, but their effectiveness is negligible against the Destiny's turrets and shuttle guns. The starfighter can survive detachment from the ship at FTL, but not sudden acceleration to FTL unless docked to the ship.

In addition to its functions as a fighter, the ship is equipped with a circular laser located on the bottom of the fighter, allowing it to dock with another ship by cutting a circular hatch into the other ship's hull. The crew of this vessel is unknown. The fighter can accommodate at least two people, although there may be room for more people.

Unknown Enemy Ursini

Command ship of an unknown race

Control ship

Control ships are ships built and used by an unknown alien race. These ships serve as aircraft carriers and carry hundreds of Berserker drones.

Control ships are large ships that were apparently built for the sole purpose of ferrying and controlling combat drones. Unmanned fighters are mounted on the ship's hull in an inactive state and are launched to destroy any alien technology. The control ships do not appear to be equipped with any offensive or defensive systems, relying solely on the vast numbers of drones and their firepower for protection. The Destiny's main gun was able to destroy one such ship with only a few shots, and apparently the ships are not equipped with energy shields.

Each control vessel controls its own armada of drones, and without its commands the drones cannot operate. Additionally, a control ship can only control its specific drone armada and cannot expand its influence over the drones of another command ship, even if it is destroyed and its drones are not active. In turn, drones can act autonomously if a task is loaded into them. Apparently the control ships can communicate with each other, given that they were able to coordinate their actions during the blockade of all available stars.

Drones

Berserker drone

The drones are automated ships created by an unknown alien race in the second galaxy, which was visited by earthlings on Destiny. They are controlled by control ships. According to Ursini, the race that created them is likely extinct long ago.

These fighters are unmanned and extremely maneuverable. Controlled by a large control ship, their sole purpose is to destroy any technology other than their own. They surround the target and attack it from different sides. Although drones are quite primitive in their tactics, they can develop new ones. To hit the most vulnerable areas of the target, the drones change their attack tactics, splitting into groups to attack multiple targets, and also protect the control ship from potential threats.

There are at least three types of drones. The first two are roughly the size of an Ancient shuttle, while the third is small enough to fit on a shuttle and be lifted by several people. The drones are equipped with energy cannons. While they alone are not effective enough to penetrate the shield of the Ancients, in a group of several they can deplete the shield in a few minutes. Also, one shot from a drone cannon can disable a first-generation stargate. Apparently, the drones are not protected by shields, and they can be destroyed with one shot from the Destiny gun

Drones can move both in space and in the atmosphere. They can detect an object by sound or radio signals. Drones can detect a stargate via a subspace signal when the gate is activated.

Others

Ursini ship

Ursini ship

The Ursini spaceship is a type of spacecraft created and used by an alien race known as the Ursini.

The expedition to Destiny encountered a damaged Ursini spaceship drifting in space within an unknown galaxy. The entire ship was seriously damaged as a result of a battle with an unknown race. After viewing the data from KINO, Colonel Everett Young and Dr. Nicholas Rush went to the ship. Even though the ship's bridge was destroyed, Rush managed to find the control panel and activate the life support system. By doing this, he accidentally activated the ship's sublight engine (albeit for a couple of seconds). Thus, the ship began to move away from Destiny. Colonel Young and Dr. Rush eventually returned to the Destiny.

Doctor McKay. The new "Daedalus" jumped uncontrollably from one universe to another. In one of the universes, the team stumbled upon an unknown, advanced race attacking Atlantis with the help of a large spaceship. The ship is approximately three times the size of the Daedalus. It is protected by a shield, which is much weaker in strength than the Daedalus shields (it may not have a shield). The aliens' weapons were disabled by two shots from an Asgard plasma beam cannon. The ship has two fighter bays with 10 fighters each.

This ship's weapons, although similar to those of the Wraith, are still different from other pulse weapon technologies. Unlike the weapons of other races, the shots from these aliens' guns look like a fireball, and not a clot of energy. The main weapons are two pulse plasma cannons with a fairly high rate of fire.

Alien fighter

A fighter used by aliens in an attack on another Daedalus (Daedalus Variations series). A fairly fast and maneuverable fighter, armed with 2 pulse cannons. Apparently the ship is used not only for conducting air and space battles, but also for ramming actions, and unlike the Wraith arrows, it not only pierces the hull of an enemy ship, but also thereby delivers its pilot on board for sabotage and destruction of the enemy crew. The landing party can reach three or more “cyborgs”. The fighter is similar to the Arrow Wraith, although it is somewhat larger, has a single engine and four small wings. The ship is made of ordinary materials, apparently it has a very strong hull (since it penetrated the Trinium hull of the Daedalus), but several similar ships were destroyed by the rail guns mounted on the Tau'ri Daedalus-class ship.

Daedalus." These ships can fly in hyperspace and are also equipped with energy shields and energy weapons.

Nomads live aboard these ships, making them a space-dwelling race. Thus, their ships are designed to provide residents with as comfortable a living environment as possible, although the number of people living on the ships is unlikely to be large due to the small size of the ship. Since the Nomads do not have the resources to build new ships, their current fleet is all they have.

Since Nomads are a space-dwelling race, they rarely land their ships for repairs. Thus, their ships are repaired directly in space. All the ship's systems are not based on crystals, but on more primitive wires and chips.

An incredible plan to send people to another star within the next 100 years received the support of former US President Bill Clinton today.
The 100 Year Starship project, which was developed by the US military, involves the development of huge ships to send people to other star systems.
Next week there will be a meeting to discuss the project and begin preparations for its implementation. This is the first serious attempt to create a ship capable of reaching the nearest stars.

The problem of creating a spacecraft capable of covering interstellar distances is considered insoluble at the current level of science and technology. Despite this, there is an organization with the beautiful name “Tau Zero Foundation”, which on the main page of the website http://www.tauzerofoundation.org/ makes the following policy statement:

Imagine the moment in history when the first Earth-like planet is discovered in the depths of interstellar space. Like an inaccessible treasure, it will attract us like the light of a distant beacon. Is this the future home for humanity? What life forms already exist there? What will happen when we get there? Based on today's technology, traveling to the stars is a very long-term endeavor. While existing space agencies struggle to send astronauts beyond Earth's orbit and commercial firms help people experience the excitement and thrill of spaceflight, no one has yet taken up the challenge of reaching other habitable worlds.

The Tau Zero Community Foundation is a volunteer group of scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and writers who have agreed to work together toward practical interstellar flight and to use the search for solutions to expand your knowledge of science, technology, and our place in the universe. By publishing the latest achievements and still unfinished results, we give students the starting material to begin their own discoveries. By showing how terrifying and incredible this challenge is, we hope to increase the focus on protecting the habitability of our Earth as voyages to the Galaxy are planned. As we strive to reach for the stars, we will benefit from every step along the way. You could help us in this endeavor. With sufficient support, we will be able to award grants and scholarships on a competitive basis. Help us create a future worth fighting for, where humanity can survive and grow into the skies. Let's make this dream a reality together.

The founder of the Tau Zero Foundation, Mark Millis, worked at NASA in the 90s and was involved in futuristic projects of interstellar spacecraft. NASA is paying some attention to spacecraft projects that use physical principles that do not yet exist. Projects that look absolutely fantastic are supported within reasonable limits. It's called Horizon Mission Methodology. Sometimes it is useful to get off the ground and fly without wings, as happens in a dream. However, it looks like things are getting serious!

The widely known organization DARPA - the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, together with NASA, which does not need to be deciphered, at the beginning of last year established a 100-year research project towards the creation of an interstellar spacecraft. It's called 100 Year Starship, and it's really about advanced scientific research that could last 100 years. To ultimately result in knowledge that will help make the dream of Alpha Centauri come true!

It was planned to create an autonomous organization of the same name by the symbolic date of 11.11.11 and provide it with a grant of $500,000. In addition to scientific and technical issues, the task was set of actively involving the film industry and mass media in promoting the idea of interstellar flight. Humanity undoubtedly needs a new meaning of being, so the efforts of DARPA & NASA in this direction are important and interesting. However, with a beautiful date 11/11/11. It didn't work out a bit. Only in early January of this year, DARPA decided on the leader of the 100 Year Starship project: astronaut Mae Jemison, who became the first black woman in space in 1992, was chosen as captain of the project. Her personal foundation, the Dorothy Jemisson Foundation for Excellence, received $500,000 to start the project. DARPA's somewhat surprising choice seems reasonable given the 100 Year Starship's core mission: attracting extrabudgetary funding that will ensure the ship's 100-year voyage to distant horizons. But in addition to finding sources of funding, the new organization faces the task of strategic planning of scientific research. In this regard, Mae Jemison's abilities have yet to stand the test of time.

"We will travel through time and space."

"If you hear my voice shaking, it's because this project is monumental. And I'm very proud to be a part of this project. And our DARPA-trusted team is dedicated to making interstellar travel a reality."

Project "Daedelous" ("Daedalus") - the first complete development of an interstellar ship of the British Interplanetary Society (1970). Icarus Interstellar, a partner of 100 Year Starship, is developing Project Icarus as a successor to Daedalus. The ongoing research will undoubtedly be discussed at length in Houston.

Project Daedelous is the first serious attempt to create a ship capable of reaching the nearest stars. The weight of such a ship is 50,000 tons, power comes from nuclear fusion, its speed is 12% of the speed of light.
The project involved the construction of a powerful two-stage unmanned ship with thermonuclear engines in Jupiter orbit. According to calculations, “Daedelous” was supposed to fly to Barnard’s star (one of the nearest stars) in 50 years, without stopping to pass by it along the flight path, collect information about the star and planets and then transmit the research results to Earth via radio channel. The real merit of the Daedelous project was that it broke the stereotypical idea of starships as something distant and super-fantastic.
http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daedalus_(project)

The 100 Year Starship project and Icarus have teamed up to create a common fund for the development of the Daedelous project.

Adam Crowle, director of the Icarus interstellar project, said: "Project Icarus will produce complex designs and conduct research with the common goal of establishing the technical base necessary for successful interstellar missions."

The team began work on the project by assessing the task at hand. At this point, a list of what needs to be done has already been compiled.

Such a journey will require revolutionary energy generation, storage and control systems, advanced propulsion systems, radical advances in closed-loop life support systems, as well as new insights into human development, health, behavior and learning, advances in robotics, automation, intelligent systems and manufacturing technologies.

Programs to create a human presence on the Moon, Mars or anywhere else in our solar system will be the first steps towards other stars.

The Houston event will run September 13-16, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency. Detailed information is available on the website of the “100 Year Starship” project (

Today, space flights are not considered science fiction stories, but, unfortunately, a modern spaceship is still very different from those shown in films.

Spaceships of the future

Spaceship: what is it like?

On

Spaceship, how does it work?

The mass of modern spacecraft is directly related to how high they fly. The main task of manned spacecraft is safety.

The SOYUZ lander became the first space series of the Soviet Union. During this period, there was an arms race between the USSR and the USA. If we compare the size and approach to the issue of construction, the leadership of the USSR did everything for the speedy conquest of space. It is clear why similar devices are not being built today. It is unlikely that anyone will undertake to build according to a scheme in which there is no personal space for the astronauts. Modern spaceships are equipped with crew rest rooms and a descent capsule, the main task of which is to make it as soft as possible at the moment of landing.

The first spaceship: history of creation

Tsiolkovsky is rightly considered the father of astronautics. Based on his teachings, Goddrad built a rocket engine.

Scientists who worked in the Soviet Union became the first to design and be able to launch an artificial satellite. They were also the first to invent the possibility of launching a living creature into space. The States realize that the Union was the first to create an aircraft capable of going into space with a man. Korolev is rightly called the father of rocket science, who went down in history as the one who figured out how to overcome gravity and was able to create the first manned spacecraft. Today, even kids know in what year the first ship with a person on board was launched, but few people remember Korolev’s contribution to this process.

The crew and their safety during the flight

The main task today is the safety of the crew, because they spend a lot of time at flight altitude. When building a flying device, it is important what metal it is made from. The following types of metals are used in rocket science:

  1. Aluminum allows you to significantly increase the size of the spacecraft, since it is lightweight.
  2. Iron copes remarkably well with all loads on the ship’s hull.
  3. Copper has high thermal conductivity.
  4. Silver reliably binds copper and steel.
  5. Tanks for liquid oxygen and hydrogen are made from titanium alloys.

A modern life support system allows you to create an atmosphere familiar to a person. Many boys see themselves flying in space, forgetting about the very large overload of the astronaut at launch.

The largest spaceship in the world

Among warships, fighters and interceptors are very popular. A modern cargo ship has the following classification:

  1. The probe is a research ship.
  2. Capsule - cargo compartment for delivery or rescue operations of the crew.
  3. The module is launched into orbit by an unmanned carrier. Modern modules are divided into 3 categories.
  4. Rocket. The prototype for the creation was military developments.
  5. Shuttle - reusable structures for delivering the necessary cargo.
  6. Stations are the largest spaceships. Today, not only Russians are in outer space, but also French, Chinese and others.

Buran - a spaceship that went down in history

The first spacecraft to go into space was Vostok. Afterwards, the USSR Rocket Science Federation began producing Soyuz spacecraft. Much later, Clippers and Russ began to be produced. The federation has great hopes for all these manned projects.

In 1960, the Vostok spacecraft proved the possibility of manned space travel. On April 12, 1961, Vostok 1 orbited the Earth. But the question of who flew on the Vostok 1 ship for some reason causes difficulty. Maybe the fact is that we simply don’t know that Gagarin made his first flight on this ship? In the same year, the Vostok 2 spacecraft went into orbit for the first time, carrying two cosmonauts at once, one of whom went beyond the ship in space. It was progress. And already in 1965, Voskhod 2 was able to go into outer space. The story of the ship Voskhod 2 was filmed.

Vostok 3 set a new world record for the time a ship spent in space. The last ship in the series was Vostok 6.

The American Apollo series shuttle opened new horizons. After all, in 1968, Apollo 11 was the first to land on the Moon. Today there are several projects to develop spaceplanes of the future, such as Hermes and Columbus.

Salyut is a series of interorbital space stations of the Soviet Union. Salyut 7 is famous for being a wreck.

The next spacecraft whose history is of interest is Buran, by the way, I wonder where it is now. In 1988 he made his first and last flight. After repeated dismantling and transportation, Buran's route of movement was lost. The known last location of the spacecraft Buranv Sochi, work on it is mothballed. However, the storm around this project has not yet subsided, and the further fate of the abandoned Buran project is of interest to many. And in Moscow, an interactive museum complex has been created inside a model of the Buran spaceship at VDNKh.

Gemini is a series of ships designed by American designers. They replaced the Mercury project and were able to make a spiral in orbit.

American ships called Space Shuttle became a kind of shuttles, making more than 100 flights between objects. The second Space Shuttle was Challenger.

One cannot help but be interested in the history of the planet Nibiru, which is recognized as a supervisory ship. Nibiru has already approached the Earth at a dangerous distance twice, but both times a collision was avoided.

Dragon is a spacecraft that was supposed to fly to the planet Mars in 2018. In 2014, the federation, citing the technical characteristics and condition of the Dragon ship, postponed the launch. Not long ago, another event occurred: the Boeing company made a statement that it had also begun development of a Mars rover.

The first universal reusable spacecraft in history was to be an apparatus called Zarya. Zarya is the first development of a reusable transport ship, on which the federation had very high hopes.

The possibility of using nuclear installations in space is considered a breakthrough. For these purposes, work has begun on a transport and energy module. In parallel, development is underway on the Prometheus project, a compact nuclear reactor for rockets and spacecraft.

China's Shenzhou 11 launched in 2016 with two astronauts expected to spend 33 days in space.

Spacecraft speed (km/h)

The minimum speed with which one can enter orbit around the Earth is considered to be 8 km/s. Today there is no need to develop the fastest ship in the world, since we are at the very beginning of outer space. After all, the maximum height that we could reach in space is only 500 km. The record for the fastest movement in space was set in 1969, and so far it has not been broken. On the Apollo 10 spacecraft, three astronauts, having orbited the Moon, were returning home. The capsule that was supposed to deliver them from the flight managed to reach a speed of 39.897 km/h. For comparison, let's look at how fast the space station is traveling. It can reach a maximum speed of 27,600 km/h.

Abandoned spaceships

Today, a cemetery in the Pacific Ocean has been created for spaceships that have fallen into disrepair, where dozens of abandoned spaceships can find their final refuge. Spaceship disasters

Disasters happen in space, often taking lives. The most common, oddly enough, are accidents that occur due to collisions with space debris. When a collision occurs, the object's orbit shifts and causes crash and damage, often resulting in an explosion. The most famous disaster is the death of the American manned spacecraft Challenger.

Nuclear propulsion for spacecraft 2017

Today, scientists are working on projects to create a nuclear electric motor. These developments involve the conquest of space using photonic engines. Russian scientists plan to begin testing a thermonuclear engine in the near future.

Spaceships of Russia and the USA

Rapid interest in space arose during the Cold War between the USSR and the USA. American scientists recognized their Russian colleagues as worthy rivals. Soviet rocketry continued to develop, and after the collapse of the state, Russia became its successor. Of course, the spacecraft that Russian cosmonauts fly on are significantly different from the first ships. Moreover, today, thanks to the successful developments of American scientists, spaceships have become reusable.

Spaceships of the future

Today, projects that will allow humanity to travel longer are of increasing interest. Modern developments are already preparing ships for interstellar expeditions.

Place from where spaceships are launched

Seeing a spacecraft launch at the launch pad with your own eyes is the dream of many. This may be due to the fact that the first launch does not always lead to the desired result. But thanks to the Internet, we can see the ship take off. Given the fact that those watching the launch of a manned spacecraft should be quite far away, we can imagine that we are on the take-off pad.

Spaceship: what is it like inside?

Today, thanks to museum exhibits, we can see with our own eyes the structure of ships such as the Soyuz. Of course, the first ships were very simple from the inside. The interior of more modern options is designed in soothing colors. The structure of any spaceship necessarily frightens us with many levers and buttons. And this adds pride to those who were able to remember how the ship works, and, moreover, learned to control it.

What spaceships are they flying on now?

New spaceships with their appearance confirm that science fiction has become reality. Today, no one will be surprised by the fact that spacecraft docking is a reality. And few people remember that the first such docking in the world took place back in 1967...

No one can confidently confirm or deny the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. Skeptics are convinced that if there were inhabited worlds in the Universe with powerful technologies, their representatives would have visited the Solar System long ago and made themselves known. All that remains is to wait for the brothers in mind who will fly to Earth in their super-fast spaceships.

Other researchers believe that there is no need to expect the arrival of alien guests in the near future. Moreover, earthlings, given the current state of science and technology, will also not be able to go far beyond the solar system. The fact is that the stars closest to Earth, in the area of which one would expect to encounter alien intelligence, are located at a distance of several tens of light years from the Sun.

The most modern spacecraft of earthlings is not able to overcome the distance even during the lifetime of several successive generations. The principles of jet propulsion, which form the basis of current rocket science, make it possible to move at an acceptable speed only within the “home” star system. And even then such journeys can last for years and even decades.

The interstellar unmanned vehicle Voyager, which has already left the solar system, will be able to reach the nearest star in only 17 thousand years.

And yet, experts in the field of space exploration are already purposefully working on projects of spacecraft capable of interstellar travel. No one knows exactly what the first human-controlled vehicle that will go to other stars will look like. Today we can only talk about the general principles of building interstellar ships, based on the achieved level of technology development.

Future spaceship

Apparently, the main element of the interstellar ship will be the power plant. Experts still consider rocket engines using thermonuclear reactions to be the most promising designs. Back in the 70s of the last century, such a ship called “Daedalus” was developed. It was assumed that he would take on board about 50 thousand tons of fuel. The dimensions of the ship had to exceed the dimensions of tall skyscrapers.

The manned interstellar transport will have a part suitable for human habitation. During the long flight, the crew and possible passengers will have to lead a very ordinary life. There are projects that involve creating a state of artificial gravity on the ship.

It is quite possible that part of the useful area of the spacecraft will be occupied by greenhouses, where plants suitable for human consumption will grow.

The appearance of an interstellar ship should not at all resemble a modern space rocket or orbital station. This will be a functional complex consisting of many parts with the most bizarre shapes. Apparently, such a massive ship will not have to launch from the surface of the planet. It is more convenient to assemble it in low-Earth orbit, from where it will travel.

The appearance of the ship will not remain unchanged during the flight to the stars. The laws of technology development state that sooner or later the stage of creating dynamic and self-developing systems comes. This means that the interstellar ship will be able to change its appearance during the flight, discarding its worn-out systems and adapting to changing conditions. But the construction of such a technological “miracle”, apparently, will take place only in the distant future.
